Fairness and responsibility

The Nölken family realises that its employees are the company’s greatest asset, and behaves accordingly. The company also acts to promote the region. Customers can rely on complete transparency for all processes.

Naturally, we are members of the United Nations Global Compact and are implementing its principles. The organisation deals primarily with human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption measures.

SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) is a non-profit organisation which focuses on ethical and responsible business practices in the global delivery chains. We have been members since March 2012.

We are committed to the Initiative zur Stärkung der Region (ISR), which has adopted the goal of enhancing the economy of the region around Windhagen. Beside the economic aspect, social commitment also plays an important role: the association is also involved in work-life-balance.

Edana (European Disposables and Nonwovens Association) is the international association serving the nonwovens and related industries. Nölken is an active member since April 2013 and engages in the elaboration and implementation of industry standards.

The Forum Nachhaltiges Palmöl (FONAP) is a voluntary association of companies, organisations and non-governmental organisations which together try to find sustainable solutions for the palmoil sector. Since November 2013 Nölken supports the goal of the Forum to make sustainable and certified palmoil and palmkerneloil or relevant derivates available to the market.
