Certification of a quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN EN ISO 22716:2007 (Cosmetics GMP) has contributed to an outstanding quality standard in Nölken products for many years. Quality and hygiene are the prerequisites for a perfect product. But only controlled quality provides 100% peace-of-mind.
We are able to create a safe product in accordance with our customers’ wishes thanks to careful selection of raw materials and thorough quality controls in all processes.
The certification of an environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 underpins the high standard we have for ourselves. We are committed to continuously improving the environmental impact of our manufacturing and products and have therefore developed voluntary corporate measures for environmental protection. Ecological objectives are part of our corporate policy and are integrated into the management system as a management task.
Certification in accordance with IFS Household and Personal Care certifies the high level of safety and quality in our processes. In the field of “development and manufacturing of cosmetic wet wipes and liquid cosmetic products”, TÜV Nord has certified that the IFS HPC requirements are met at the higher level.
Sustainability certificates are becoming ever more important for purchasing decisions.
FSC® certification indicates that we manage the raw timber which is used as a nonwoven or cellulose in our wet wipes and nursing pads in a responsible manner. The aim of this certification is to guarantee the comprehensive protection and conservation of forests. It guarantees verification management for certified timber – from the forest to the finished product. As an independent organisation, the FSC®(Forest Stewardship Council®) is committed to sustainable forestry.
We indicate careful handling of timber with PEFC certification. The aim of these certifications is to guarantee comprehensive protection of the forests. Every step in the processing of the raw material becomes visible through the certification: from the forestry operation through to manufacturing of the end product.
As an independent organisation, the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is committed to the preservation of biodiversity.
We indicate careful handling of palm oil, palm kernel oil and their derivatives with RSPO certification. The aim of certification for the Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) supply chain standard is to support the sustainable cultivation of oil palms and to ensure traceability.

Product certifications
Many of our products are certified in accordance with the guidelines for various standards:
The Nordic Ecolabel (Swanlabel) is the official environmental label of the Nordic countries. It pursues a lifecycle approach and highlights the features of the product that are relevant to the environment and health.
The Vegan label certifies that selected products are free from animal products and are not tested on animals.
The BDIH standard distinguishes certified natural cosmetics without animal testing. It confirms that the raw materials used are plant-based and predominantly from controlled organic cultivation. Only raw materials of natural origin are permitted.
The daab label distinguishes products offered for allergy sufferers. Certified products are free from fragrances, preservatives and colourants.
The Swiss Allergy Label, SAS label, can be used for numerous consumer goods. Products with the SAS label are tested by independent bodies and offer tangible added value for consumers who suffer from allergies or intolerances.
The ECARF Seal distinguishes products and services which are fully adapted to the needs of people with allergies. Cosmetics with this seal are particularly skin friendly.
The product certifications apply for specific products. The symbols may only be used in connection with the certified products.
