Nölken is facing regulatory challenges: New staff position for Regulatory Affairs established

Martin Francke Regulatory Affairs Manager since the beginning of this year

Nölken Hygiene Products GmbH announces that Martin Francke has held the newly created position of Regulatory Affairs Manager since 1 January 2023. Nölken is therefore addressing the growing regulatory challenges in the hygiene and cosmetics industry.

Reaction to dynamic, regulatory developments

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) maintains thousands of guidelines, draft papers as well as question and answer documents, which are regularly updated and extended. Against this background, and in view of recent developments leading to further bans and restrictions on commodities, Nölken has decided to establish a dedicated staff unit. The position of the Regulatory Affairs Manager monitors the compliance with the growing regulatory requirements to thereby ensure high standards of products and packaging and a correct, non-misleading advertising claim.

A key aspect of the new position is its independence from other operational commitments. This allows the Regulatory Affairs Manager to act neutrally and without being influenced by commercial or developmental factors. Communications with authorities and associations and the analysis of the product-specific data and legal position are now the responsibility of the Regulatory Affairs Manager.

About Martin Francke

Martin Francke (35) brings a wide range of experience and skills to his new position. Since his certification as a pharmaceutical technical assistant in 2007, he has continuously worked in highly regulated areas. He holds a Master of Science in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Bonn and was, among other things, Deputy Head of Quality Assurance at Azelis and QM specialist at Lohmann & Rauscher. With his extensive expertise, he is ideally suited to handle the regulatory challenges at Nölken.

“The establishment of this new staff position is an important step for Nölken to proactively address the growing regulatory challenges in our industry,” says Daniel Nölken, Managing Director of Nölken Hygiene Products GmbH. “With Martin Francke, we were able to gain an outstanding expert for this task.”
