The certification of a quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN EN ISO 22716:2007 (Cosmetics-GMP) has contributed to the excellent quality standard of Nölken's products for years. Quality and hygiene are prerequisites for an optimal product. But only controlled quality provides 100 percent certainty.

The certification of an environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 underpins the high standards we set for ourselves. We are committed to continuously improving the environmental impact of our manufacturing processes and products, and have therefore developed voluntary corporate measures for environmental protection. Ecological objectives are part of the corporate policy and are integrated into the management system as a leadership task.

The IFS Household and Personal Care certification confirms the high level of processes in terms of safety and quality. For the area of „Development and manufacture of cosmetic wet wipes and liquid cosmetic products,“ TÜV Nord has certified compliance with the requirements of IFS HPC at a higher level.

Product Certifications

Just under 71 % (as of December 31, 2025) of our annual revenue comes from products with recognized cosmetic seals. This shows that consumers trust recognized and verifiable product seals. The product seals mentioned below apply only to certain products and not the entire assortment. The seals are only to be used in connection with the certified products.

Since 2018, all of Nölken's production sites have been certified according to the supply chain standard of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil RSPO certified and is audited annually by an independent certification body. Our internal policy is to source all our palm (kernel) oil derivatives at least to RSPO Mass Balance quality. (MB) to purchase. By using certified raw materials, we pursue the conscientious handling of palm (kernel) oil derivatives, which we need for the production of impregnation liquids and liquid care products. The goal of RSPO certification is to support the sustainable cultivation of oil palms and ensure traceability. Since 2011, all Nölken production sites have been certified to the FSC® supply chain standard and are audited annually by an independent certification body. With the certification of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) We signal the responsible handling of the raw material wood, which is used as a nonwoven or pulp in our wet wipes and pads. The FSC aims to ensure comprehensive protection of forests and advocates for sustainable forestry. It certifies the traceability of certified wood from the forest to the finished product. Since 2011, all Nölken production sites have been certified according to the PEFC supply chain standard and are audited annually by an independent certification body. The certification of the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) We signal the responsible handling of the raw material wood and its by-products. PEFC is a transparent and independent system for ensuring sustainable forest management. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel (Nordic Ecolabel) It is the state environmental label of the Nordic countries and an officially recognized ISO 14024 eco-label. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel seal identifies products that meet ambitious environmental requirements. The system follows a life-cycle approach and promotes resource efficiency, reduces climate impact, a circular economy, and the protection of biodiversity.

The vegan flower of the Vegan Society (Vegan Trademark) is an independent, third-party audited certification system for vegan products and ingredients. The seal certifies that products are not tested on or by animals by the company itself or on behalf of the company, and that they do not contain any animal ingredients.

The daab label identifies products offered for allergy sufferers. Certified products are as free of allergens as possible and well-tolerated.

The Swiss Allergy Seal of Quality, SAS-Label, is applicable to numerous consumer goods. Products with the SAS Seal of Quality are tested by independent bodies and offer consumers suffering from allergies or intolerances a tangible added value.

The ECARF Seal recognizes products and services that are fully adapted to the needs of allergy sufferers. Cosmetics with this seal are particularly well-tolerated by the skin.
