Successful RSPO certification of Nölken sites

Following the successful completion of an independent audit, Nölken's production sites were once again awarded the certification of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) on January 10, 2023. The certificate stands for the promotion of sustainability in the palm oil value chain and demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the leading manufacturer of wet wipes, breast pads, and cosmetic care products.

Following an independent, external audit by the certification body Control Union Certifications in November 2022, Nölken Hygiene Products received the RSPO certificate for all production sites in both Germany and Poland on January 10, 2023.

Nölken relies on the benefits of renewable resources for the production of its diverse care and cosmetic products. Ingredients based on palm (kernel) oil form the basis for active washing and cleansing substances such as surfactants or emulsifiers, which make these products so effective. However, the production and use of palm (kernel) oil is the subject of public criticism, as natural habitats are often destroyed for cultivation.

That is why Nölken Hygiene Products is committed to promoting the sustainable cultivation of oil palms and the downstream production of palm (kernel) oil derivatives. Since 2021, this second-generation family-owned company has been using 100% %-certified sustainable palm raw materials under the RSPO Mass Balance (RSPO MB) scheme. In addition, it is a member of the multi-stakeholder platform Forum for Sustainable Palm Oil (FONAP) and is committed to improving the environmental and social aspects of oil palm cultivation.

Since 2017, Nölken has been certified according to the RSPO Supply Chain Standard and has been successfully re-audited annually. This allows customers to label products with the RSPO seal of approval and further support ethical palm oil production practices.

Through a unique collaboration between companies and environmental organizations from various sectors, this organization has established itself as a leader in promoting environmentally friendly processes throughout the entire value chain.
